GB 6653 HP265 Hot Rolled Steel Plate for Welded LPG Cylinders
HP265 is national standard hot rolled steel for liquefied petroleum gas cylinders under GB 6653, with minimum yield strength 265 MPa, specially developed for safe welded gas container fabrication. Low silicon and low carbon design greatly optimizes cold forming and welding performance, solving cracking risks during cylinder stamping production.
Chemical composition features ultra-low silicon ≤0.10%, manganese 0.40–0.80%, and Als ≥0.015 to refine internal grain and boost low-temperature toughness. Mechanical property requirements include tensile strength 410–520 MPa and elongation above 27%, passing 180° cold bending test without surface fracture for complex cylinder heads forming.
HP265 is the dominant material for household and industrial LPG cylinders, small mobile gas storage tanks and portable pressure vessels. It adapts to production lines in Southeast Asia, Africa and Latin America, with stable forming yield and low post-processing rejection rate. We provide full-size HP265 steel plates and coils, with mill test certificates to meet international gas cylinder safety inspection standards for export bulk orders.
